Fall Recruitment
In the beginning of the semester, AIChE was actively involved in promoting the organization. AIChE members targeted wide range of students, from year 1 to year 3, in order to create wider awareness on the purpose of AIChE. The result was successful, as more than 80 students signed up as a member.
Welcoming Dinner
Welcoming dinner was the first official event of HKUST AIChE committee 2017-2018. In the welcoming dinner, members were able to socialize with their classmates, seniors and professors through eating pizza together and playing ice-breaking games.
Professional Development Workshop was the first academic event of HKUST AIChE committee 2017-2018. In the beginning of the workshop, students identified their personalities in order to find the suitable job positions. Then, they compared their CVs with the template so that they can check what components were missing. Moreover, some valuable tips were also given to the students to further enhance the quality of their CVs.

Alumni Sharing
Alumni Sharing was the first event of HKUST AIChE in the spring term. In the event, alumnae from different backgrounds shared their advices and stories to the members. After the sharing, participants of the event ate pizza together while the members had more time to ask personal questions to the alumnae.

Plant Visit
Plant visit to MA ON SHAN WATER TREATMENT WORKS was the first plant visit organized by HKUST AIChE. After the plant visit, the participants were able to learn the process of the water treatment and also get a sense of how real plants work.
Professional Development Workshop
In the previous workshop for the Fall term, HKUST AIChE focused on preparing for CVs. Therefore, in the spring term, the workshop's main focus was interview skills. In the workshop, the participants learned what aspects they need to appeal during an interview. Moreover, they had a mock interview which can aid them to realize which behavior or word choices they should avoid during a interview.
Recruitment Talk
In the spring term, NAMI (Nano and Advanced Materials Institute Limited) has come to HKUST in order to give a recruitment talk. During the talk, NAMI introduced its work culture, departments and the main focus of their business. Moreover, they also presented various internship positions that our CBME students can apply.
