Ayman Hoque - President

Hello everyone! My name is Ayman Hoque and I am a second year chemical and bimolecular engineering student. While having finished my education in Bangladesh, I have an upbringing in Hong Kong. I started my university life by looking at a possible biological wastewater treatment process. What started as a course project has grown to an independent research with our idea being presented in the NUS-AIChE E2S2 Conference and attending the green challenge competition in Denmark. AIChE has given me an opportunity to experience chemical engineering outside the classroom. Apart from studies, I enjoy gaming and read manga.

I look forward to work with AIChE, conduct new and exciting events for the upcoming year. If you have any suggestions for events feel free to contact me.

Ishita Kumar - Vice-President

My name is Ishita Kumar and I am currently the Vice President of the AIChE HKUST Student Chapter. I thoroughly enjoy being a part of this community, I have been able to meet and interact with many like-minded people who are all passionate about making a change at our university. I have chosen to study chemical engineering because I hope to work in the renewable energy field one day. Fun fact: I once made ice cream from scratch using sodium alginate!

Pranjal Mathur - Vice-President

Hello viewers, I am Pranjal Mathur, One of Three Vice Presidents for this student chapter. I am currently studying Chemical and Environmental engineering and am stoked to be a part of this committee. I love communication and building networks and this opportunity is the perfect platform to establish professional relationships and contacts with the industrial complex. At the same time, I am interested in the engineering principles and science associated with the discipline. Yet again, AIChE is just the right means as it allows us to gain exposure on behalf and in collaboration with our department. I am also a huge fan of cricket which has a fair following around the world. If you don’t know what cricket is, it’s what the brown people are doing when you’re not looking. Cheers!
