Fall Recruitment - 2018
In the beginning of the semester, AIChE was actively involved in promoting the organization. AIChE members targeted wide range of students, from undergraduates to PhD students, in order to create wider awareness on the purpose of AIChE and for our members to get an exposure to different fields of chemical engineering. This led to a successful recruitment. We had over 50 members join AIChE.

Representatives of the ExxonMobil Hong Kong office came to educate the students on the industry and advertise career openings in the company.

Social Events
Start of Semester Dinner
An informal event to introduce the new executive committee of AIChE - HKUST chapter and to meet the new and old members. This event aims to gather Chemical Engineering students and professors to mingle with each other!
TGIF (Thank God its Friday) Lunch
As requested by the head of chemical engineering department, this event was an opportunity for members to unwind and celebrate the end of midterms with pizza.
End of Year Executive Committee dinner
The AIChE - HKUST chapter executive committee met one final time for dinner before enjoying the summer vacation. We reflected on the previous years events.
Technical Events
Beer Brewing Workshop By Young Masters
Young Masters representative came and conducted a workshop on professional beer brewing techniques on campus and gave an overview of the industry and career opportunities. Our students had a first hand experience in brewing 4 different flavours of beer
Battery Making Workshop
Members of the AICHE Executive committee held a workshop teaching students to construct their own zinc-carbon batteries, simultaneously teaching them the technical considerations involved on an industrial scale.

CV Development Workshop
Had a representative of the HKUST Career development team guide and critique AICHE members CV’s specific to the chemical engineering industry in Hong Kong.
Interview skill Workshop
Had a representative of the HKUST Career development team guide and critique AICHE members CV’s specific to the chemical engineering industry in Hong Kong.
Georgia-HKUST Professor Sharing
Hosted a dinner where a Georgia Tech Professor highlighted key features of the research exchange program that has been recently set-up between both of the university’s chemical engineering departments.
