Yeoh, Min Li - President
I am always interested in water-related issues. As we all know, clean water is very important to all of us. It ensures our good health and sustains our lives. However, more than 40 percent of the world population is still suffering from scarcity of clean water and this is an alarming figure which is expected to increase with the rise of global warming. Hence, I hope to play a part in solving this problem by utilizing what I have learned in my major. Engineers are not only problem solvers but are also inventors. I hope to come up with more efficient water treatment systems which could provide every corner of the world with easily accessible and cheaper water supply. I know that there will be many hurdles to overcome as well as many challenges awaiting for me. But achieving universal access to clean water and sanitation is apparently one of the 17 Global Goals that make up the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. Hence, I believe that there are many people in the world who shares the same goal as I do and together, we can definitely make this possible.
Hi! I am Min Li, a second year student majoring in Chemical and Environmental Engineering (CEEV). If you share the same vision as I am, please do not hesitate to contact me!
Oreshkin, Gennady - Vice-President
My name is Gennady, I come from a small Syberian city in the middle of the eastern part of Russia. After I came to HKUST I aspired to join a community which helps students to find their way not only in terms of career perspective and academics but also in mentorship and bonding with each other. I believed that by joining AIChE I would have had an opportunity to work with not only prospective engineers but also simply inspiring people, and I wasn’t disappointed. I have always been passionate about contributing into others’ learning experience and growth.
Madej, Dominik - Vice-President
My name is Dominik and I am a second year Chemical Engineering student. I grew up and studied in Poland. After leaving my high school, I decided to get to know more about Asia and pursue my undergraduate studies at HKUST. I find it an amazing experience to study in Hong Kong due to its diversity and challenges. I believe that being a part of AIChE Student Chapter is a unique chance for all of us to learn, explore and plan our dream careers in chemical industry.

Park, Ye Eun (Grace) - IT Manager
I’m Grace, a Korean International student who lived most of her life in Mongolia, Russia, and the Philippines. Ever since I was in high school, I loved math and science. I gained interest in engineering through a science teacher who was a former engineer and also because I wanted to use what I learned from math and science for a practical purpose that will benefit the community. Now, engineering, the integration and bridging of science and the real word, has become my passion. After living near a neighbourhood without clean water in the Philippines, I became interested in water sanitation and declared my major as chemical engineering. Even if I don’t happen to go into water sanitation, I believe chemical engineering leads to open doors in various fields like energy, cosmetics and medicine that can improve people’s lives. Join AIChE and know more about the wondrous field of Chemical Engineering.
Chan, Ho Him - Financial Secretary
Hi, I’m Horace, a current year 3 CBME student. The reason why I chose chemical and biomolecular engineering as my major is because CBME is an interesting and quite special subject that I never touch before. I was supposed to be a science student instead of an engineering student because I put School of Science as my first choice. Although I accidentally became an engineering student, I never feel sad for it as I could meet such helpful and nice friends in this society.
Chan, Shek Nga - Financial Secretary
Hi everyone! My name is Sukey. I'm a local Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering student at HKUST. Having previous experience in financial accounting, I decided to make good use of my expertise and became one of the financial secretaries of AIChE HKUST.
